Installation in public space

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the infamous "Stop Töhryille"(Clean City)-campaign of the City of Helsinki that aims to remove any kind of visual or textual intervention in a public space by a private person, this work illustrates the campaigns perverse logic by denying safe pedestrian access for the sake of keeping an electric box clean.

A site specific performance in an ice cream bar in Kringlan shopping center in Reykjavik, Iceland

The performance took place several times during one week as a part of a public art exhibition "Midaugur og Kringla; Leisure, administration and control".

It was performed by Amalia Sverrisdottir, who entered the ice cream bar from back door at unannounced times during the busiest business hours and started tasting the ice creams. The action went on for half an hour at a time. The staff pretended not to notice anything unusual and wouldn’t answer questions concerning the performer.
